I can date my first interest in working with herbs back to my Mother's garden when I was about four or five years old. My favourite game was to pick the wildflowers that grew in the garden and mix them up in tiny bottles of water, which I would then proudly present to my Mum and my Sister as bottles of "perfume". Unfortunately the name did not quite match the contents, and I am happy to say that as I grew older, I learned to work with essential oils and herbs in a much more sophisticated way!

Now I have worked with herbs and oils for many years, and find great satisfaction in learning new uses for old favourites (particularly as these days my blends smell much better than the early bottles of perfume in the garden!)

Just like working with crystals, plants and herbs traditionally had associations for various purposes, which throughout history we turned to as a way of working with energy and trying to get an outcome that we wanted. Whether we believe in these associations or not, there is something truly magical about the old systems, and I get an immense amount of enjoyment out of working with them and creating things using the old crafts and ways of doing things.
